The competition is funded through sponsorship. The non-profit GmbH Formel 1 in der Schule based in Heidelberg and for promoting the organization of regional and nationwide as well as precipitation for the equipment of F1 competency centers sponsorships and donations.

The purpose of the nonprofit society is to strengthen the technical education of students and to promote the general interest in technical education content, and thus the introduction to careers in technology. This is inter alia by organizing, promoting and implementing the annual Formula 1 competition achieved in school.

To make the most of the donations and sponsorship money to come to the charitable purpose, the directors are volunteers.
